Cat litter can contain a parasite called Toxoplasmosis that can infect you, and hurt your baby. You should never change kitty litter when you are expecting.

Many pregnant women suffer from morning sickness. When morning sickness has you feeling really low, there are several tricks that can help you feel somewhat better. Do not let yourself get to the stage of feeling hungry. Instead, make time throughout the day to eat more frequently, but with smaller meals. Drink as much as you can. When you take prenatal vitamins, be sure to take them with a meal. If there are foods which make you feel bad, don't eat them! Take all the rest you can get, because exhaustion can cause problems in the long run when overlooked.

For added comfort, pregnant women are often advised to wear sports bras. By giving an additional level of breast support, they can contribute to less aches and lower levels of pain. On addition, you will want to wear looser undergarments in the stomach and waist areas. Not only will this be very uncomfortable, but it might also reduce the supply of oxygen to your baby.

It you are attempting to get pregnant, keep track of your menstrual cycles. If you learn your cycle, it can help you find the best time to try and get pregnant. You can also make a better guess as to the conception date if you track your cycle. This helps you determine when you're most likely to go into labor.

Although skin can stretch, it will only go so far. It is perfectly normal for the belly to itch as it is growing during pregnancy. When trying to make the situation more bearable, it is important not to bathe in hot water. The hot water takes away the skin's natural oils, making it itch more. The way around this is to use a heavy substance to moisturize your skin. Useful substances include petroleum jelly and cocoa butter. Get clothes that are loose fitting and resist the urge to scratch; try rubbing the itches with lotion instead.

Start getting prenatal care as quickly as you can when you are pregnant, and if possible, start it before conception. It is one of the most important ways to avoid premature birth, infant death, birth defects and low birth weight.

Make sure you remember to make time for your spouse while you are pregnant too. Your spouse with be just as anxious and excited about the baby, so be sure to include them in them in the planning. Even simple pleasures like a walk, or a good movie can be quite relaxing. This time in your lives should be enjoyed before your new bundle of joy arrives.

When you are pregnant, be sure to sleep with good support for your body. There are pillows available that are made to cradle the pregnant belly for comfort and support when sleeping. At worst, use a head pillow in place of a body pillow. Think about sleeping with pillows underneath your stomach and knees.

Be diligent about taking the right amount of iron while you are pregnant. Iron deficiencies during pregnant will cause you to have more severe fatigue and it can cause low birth weights in your baby. Your prenatal vitamin should be fortified with the recommended amount of iron.

During your pregnancy, take steps to support your body, while sleeping. You can buy a pillow that is made for your pregnant body in many different stores. If you cannot find one, you could always use a normal pillow to add extra support. Think about sleeping with pillows underneath your stomach and knees.
