5 Fashion Tips For New Moms

By Maya Hunter

Its hard to stay looking great after you've just had a baby. What seemed like a simple morning routine is now not so simple as your time is now focused on baby. You're exhausted and don't have the energy to think about what to wear.

Despite little time and energy you are now confronted with your new post baby body and chances are thats complete with some new dark under eye circles as well. The good news is it's not a total loss (Fashion that is, not your baby!) here are a few things to have on hand that will help make looking great effortless.

1. Unitards are awesome! Yep thats right a unitard can be your post pregnancy best friend because it keeps everything held together. I wear them underneath almost everything, dresses, skirts, loose fitting t-shirts and I don't know what I would do with out them. In those first few months postpartum I rotate about 5 of them everyday!

2. Once Piece Black Bathing Suit - Everyone should have one of these. It keeps that post baby tummy in check but keeps you looking great at the same time. Look out for Vintage inspired designs with lower cuts and strapless tops - there are a lot of inexpensive cool one piece bathing suits out there!

3. Tunic Top - These are great for the winter as well as the warmer months. When worn over your unitard they can create a really stylish and comfortable look without having to even think about how to put it together. I have a close full of tunic tops both T-shirts and long sleeves that I rely on daily.

4. Keds - Get these in a few different colours and you can wear them every day. Super comforatble and very stylish you can pair them with jeans, leggings, dresses and skirts and still looked polished.

5. Scarves Galore! I have a collection of probably 100 scarves or more for every season. They can totally replace the need for accessories like earrings, necklaces and bracelets - cause we all know that after baby it's increasingly difficult to wear jewellery! They key thing here is to get a variety of them in different colours and styles.

Just because you had a baby doesn't mean you can't look and feel great too! There are a ton of products out there for moms and more often than not all it takes is a little creativity.
