Is it True There Are No Fun Things To Do With Kids In NYC? Well maybe you have professional baseball, basketball, football and hockey back home. Well New York may be the city that never sleeps, but if you take in all of the things to do with your kids on my list below, both you and the kids will be pretty busy!
So if your thinking about taking a trip to the Big Apple with your kids, then I would strongly recommend checking out my list of fun things to do with your kids in NYC.
Really Fun Things To Do With Kids In NYC
Check Out The Children's Museum of Manhattan - This could end up beinmuseum g one of your favorite stops. When I first read about it in the newspaper, I was keen on visiting it right away. Now get a load of this. They have a massive digestive tract that the kids can crawl an through. Now that is awesome! And that's just one of many very intersting and fun displays & exhibits.
The concept of this museum is to focus on social outreach so they also have a play center where their visitors get to understand the power of pedaling, jumping and bouncing around. This is done as an awareness effort for obesity.
And I have to tell you about the best part. They have a bunch of Super-powered Vegetable heroes. Let's face it, any fun things to do with kids in NYC just has to have a Super-powered Veggie Hero, right?
What About a Playground? - I guess when I thought of New York City, I never really envisioned finding a great playground for the kids. That was until I discovered Union Square.
Their playground area is big big big! I'm talking somewhere around 15,000 square ft. And it's all been newly renovated. There are a number of playgrounds for all ages of kids not to mention the water features they have included. Tag, your it, now go & seek!
How about visiting Washington Square Park? - There is all kinds of art & crafts stuff going on and not just kids stuff. This is another all in the family type of spot. Summer or winter, it does not matter!
The Bronx Zoo - I think it safe to say that most people think that New York City provides a great wild life of excitement. But how about a different kind of wild. I'm talking The Bronx Zoo. This very famous zoo is home to over 4000 animals.
The 260 acres were made to look very real and is quite an amazing site. But don't worry, the animals are in fact real.
You can take in a real life Sea Lion feeding and scoot over to the Congo Gorilla Forest. I am guessing that you probably won't find that back home...lol.
The Zoo is open year round and you can get there by the subway system or if you prefer, you can take your car because they have plenty of on-site parking.
New York City Harbour Cruise - Just close your eyes for a minute & try to imagine looking at the New York City skyline from a boat. I don't think it matters what your age is, their is nothing more beautiful than a site like that. A New York City Harbour Cruise is just another of the many wonderful things to do with kids in NYC.
And if you're really into great views, the NYC Harbour Cruise will take you to the Statue of Liberty where you can scale the over 350 steps for a look at The Big Apple like you could never have imagined. Better check though, as I am not sure if this is still being offered. But if it is, then book in advance.
Yes, there really are not any fun things to do with kids in NYC. It looks like you're going to have to manage with the boring suggestions I made above lol.
