Know How To Plan And Carry-Out A Baby Shower

By Edie Mindell

Baby shower planning is very much easier when it's done with the help of a checklist and when it's done at least 8 weeks before the desired date.

This way, every important detail will be covered and there'll be ample time to work on each. Since a baby shower is a significant event for any mom's life, it's just worthwhile to spend enough time making sure that it'll turn out to be a truly memorable celebration.

After all, it's some sort of a welcoming party for a new family member which makes it more important to make sure it'll go seamlessly.

Event planners can refer to the checklist below when baby shower planning:

1. At least 8 weeks before: - Settle a budget. It's best to decide whether the celebration will be all-out or if it'll be a cost-effective one. It's also helpful to know where the party-fund will be coming from and how it'll be delegated before baby shower planning. - Finalize the party schedule. This includes the event date and time as it's best to consider the availability of those who'll be coming to make sure that the party becomes a blast. - Decide on the venue. Some venues need advanced booking and preparations. - Draft the list of significant people in the event. This includes the guest list and the people who'll be playing significant roles such as the host and the entertainer. 2. Six weeks before - Select a theme. This will make the rest of the baby shower planning easier as this covers all the necessary details. Themes can just be as simple as a color-scheme one or it may be as complex as a fairy tale theme. - Start with the invitations. Produce the invitations and send those out immediately to give guests ample time to let you know whether they can come. It's best to set the RSVP deadline at least a week before the actual celebration. - Start shopping. You need to buy the decorations, table wares, and party favors which are usually available in sets which make it easier when you already have a theme in mind. - Plan the menu. Consider the event's schedule to know whether to serve light or heavy meals as well as whether there are foods you need to stay away from and the time you need for preparations. This is also the best time to consider catering services. 3. A month before - Designate. As the event nears, you'll need more people to assist you. - Plan the entertainment. This includes the games and performances. - Rent out party needs. These include tables, chairs, sound systems, and tents. - Order the cake. Just have it ready a day before the actual event. 4. A week before - Follow-up on guests' attendance and other bookings. These include the pre-ordered cake, the booked venue, the rented party needs, and the hired catering service. - Prepare the party favors. - Book a documenting team. This includes someone who'll take photographs and video coverage. 5. The day before - Prepare everything by double-checking the checklist.
