Karate Party Favors For a Successful Birthday Event

By Serrana Milligan

Although martial arts are fairly popular in the United States, they aren't a big part of the culture. Yet, there are many people who are devoted to arts like karate. If you have a budding ninja at home, then Karate seems like a perfect theme for his birthday party.

Martials arts have originated mostly from Central and East Asia, so most party supplies, decorations and favors will have a stamp of their culture. Favors for the karate theme, for instance, will be very simple in their looks. They don't have sophisticated designs, but are beautiful because of their simplicity.

That is not to say that colorful tattoos will be out of place. With recent movies such as "The Karate Kid", you have somewhat more choices. Try tattoos that are themed on this movie or even the older one. You can buy a bunch of tattoos for about $5 or a bit more, depending on whom you buy from. There are many contemporary tattoos for the karate theme as well.

Miniature figures of real characters and superheroes also find favor with children. When it comes to this theme, you have ninja figures for karate party favors. You can also dig up some favors from popular TV shows such as Ninja turtles. They are popular action figures and kids will love them.

Yin Yang toys are simple and are also representative of the spirit of martial arts such as Karate. When it comes to school going children, stationery like erasers is just the right kind of party favor. Yin yang erasers are flat and round and they have the legendary black and white symbol. They are not flashy, but they are meant to blend in with the theme.

Karate practitioners always wear headbands and it is one of the ways you recognize someone. If you know that your guests are into Karate in some way, then headbands could be very useful to them as well. White headbands can cost from $1 to $10. When you buy in bulk, you want to go for the cheaper options, which is not a bad choice.

Dragons may not be a big part of Karate, but they are part of the folklore related to martial arts. Sticky dragons made of rubber are nice for playing and fooling around with children. Sticky toys are good enough party gifts for all kids' birthday party themes, but they are especially well suited as karate party favors.

Karate party favors might seem to be sparse in comparison to other themes, but the fact is that you can make anything into a karate themed party gift for children. Now, karate ninjas do not just get things for free, and have to prove themselves. On your child's party, let kids play some games and let the winner take home some special favors. It injects some spice into the proceeding and makes the birthday party more fun for everybody involved.
