Points To Be Considered When Going For Newborn Circumcision

By Richard Rogers

Every parent would like a situation whereby they get to receive their bundle of joy. It is a gift from God since he is the one that gives children. In most cases, parents normally develop fondness for their children even before they are born. That is why they subject themselves to going for prior tests and scan to tell if they are expecting a boy or a girl. After ascertaining that their bundle of joy is a boy, they need to take some critical measures into account. First, they need to be familiar with the term newborn circumcision.

Both Islam and Christian doctrines practice circumcision for various reasons. In fact, Christianity emphasizes on the practice since it is a sign of cleanliness. Just from reading scriptures from the bible, one can easily trace verses that mention something to do with male children who went through the knife. It is quite evident that the old practice has deeply sunk in the modern world.

Most families choose to perform the practice depending on their religious affiliations. Despite this, some just go for it because of health reasons. Therefore, people are advised to seek medical advice to get the right opinion. It is even safer to do it in hospital where surgical instruments are sterilized thus cannot transfer pathogens or any other forms of diseases.

According to general knowledge, baby boys are normally born with foreskins on their private parts. During the activity, the foreskin is cut thus exposing the head of the penis. The cut may take a few days to heal depending on the immune system of the individual.

The activity is widely practiced in most areas around the world. Particularly, the US has embraced the practice with a record of more than 55% cases. They have made the practice quite popular in North Central America whereas Western areas where there are little or no cases. The saddest part is that as much as the practice has been popularized, areas such as Asia, Latin America, Europe and Central America do not practice it.

It is for the well being of the both the client and medical practitioner that they should go through the operation manual together. That way, the parent is able to know risks involved and cannot hold the doctor liable for any misgivings. This is done to rule out any discrepancies during the operation.

There are some special reasons that may hinder a practitioner from performing the procedure. In case the baby has deformities in their penis or has been born prematurely, the operation cannot take place. These instances call for delay in procedure since it can prove to be fatal if they force their ways through.

It is for the benefit of the both the parent and the male child if they go for the operation. They are advised to take their children to be circumcised before they take them home. Science has proven that circumcised male children are less prone to diseases such as urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections.
