Lego Bricks Help Youngsters Realize Their Visions

By Marilyn Nickelson

You have seen them. We all have seen them. But, just what is the story about LEGO BRICKS?

Mankind has been inspired by inventions of all sorts; the wheel, the book, the printing press, the calculator, the computer and yes even television.

One invention that focuses on creative development at young ages is LEGO BRICKS AND MORE.

As with so many things that we take for granted in our lives this product has an interesting story that is worth hearing.

Our imagination is the source of dreams. Dreams are a blueprint for success in all endeavors. A simple toy set that encourages development of young imaginations improves the human condition, globally.

At what seems play time the youngster opens the box that is full of hundreds of little pieces designed to clip together. Shortly, a vision comes (imagination) and fingers start working to convert this (dream) into reality. Through this process the imagination is being challenged to grow and the mind has one more opportunity for positive development.

The true value of Lego Bricks is that it allows imagination to be turned into a dream and then into a tangible piece of handiwork. This is an example of self actualization in its best form. Self actualization builds positive feelings about our person and lays a path for a positive reasoning human being.

When it comes time to travel or simply visit family or friends the pieces can all be put in the container and taken along. You might say it's a child development tool to go.

Seems like a weird name for a toy, LEGO. The name was developed by the founder of LEGO, Ole Kirk Christiansen. He combined the Danish words 'leg got', which means healthy play and then the Latin word LEGO which means to put together. From this process came the product name LEGO.

With these hundreds of pieces creative minds have been able to build cars, airplanes, houses, buildings, cities and much more. It has become the 'creative mind' product that is the most sought after worldwide.

Looking back over history we find that the wheel is known as a major turning point for humanity. The Lego Bricks have now earned a position in history as a major turning point for development of creative minds in our youngest people.

Along with development of products that are focused on 'creative mind development' it is natural that such a company develops a culture of creativity. Such is true with this company as they continuously develop new and exciting products.

As you learn more about this company you discover that they are adding new product lines such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, SpongeBob and dozens of other new and exciting products.

In the year 2009 records show that over 1 million of these sets were sold worldwide. There is no question about the value of this product.

It's fascinating that LEGO is averaging over 20 billion bricks per year and has sold over 400 billion bricks since inception. That is equivalent to every person in the world having more than 60 bricks each.

It would be difficult to find family members across the world that haven't viewed and contemplated gifting a Lego Bricks set to youngsters. No question this product is HUGE in the marketplace.

I encourage your continued study of this product on this site.
