Christian Parenting - Guiding your Children through the Word of God

By Roger Ricafort

One of the goals of a parent is to provide all the needs of their children. They also need to be a loving and caring parent to their child. If you are a Christian parent, this is not the only thing that you want to do for your child. Christian parents also want to share the love of God to their children. This is the true meaning of Christian parenting. It is the sharing of the word of God and the stories of his greatness to your children.

It is very normal for a parent to implement rules for their children. These are the rules that they must follow until they already know to decide by themselves. You have to put fair treatment to all of your children and you need to make sure that the rules are clearly explained and understood as well. There will be times wherein you can be like other parents that raise their voices or hurting their children when they made a mistake. This is not what Jesus and the bible wants the parents to do.

If you will allow your children to live base on the teachings of the bible, you will not have to worry about their future. It is stated in the bible that children must obey their parents and honor their mother and father as well. If they will live according to the teachings of life, you can be sure that your children will have a good future and they are taking the right path.

Even if this is the scenario, you still need to punish them if they made something wrong. It is your duty as a parent to discipline your children the right way. It you said that they will be grounded then you need to do it. They will not see any authority in you if you will not go by the rules that you implemented. There is also a chance that the mistake that they did will happen again in the future.

A Christian parent must follow all the rules that he/she implemented. Always remember that authority cannot be shown by simply shouting and hurting your children. You can show it by implementing the punishments that you made. God gave the parents authority to discipline and punish their children for their mistakes but you need to do it the right way. Punishment can help put them on the right path. It is best to guide and raise them by using the word of God.
